What this recall means for you
A software fault in the emergency call system (eCall) can cause the date and time recorded for the system to differ from the actual date and time. As a result, the vehicle location relayed to emergency responders may be inaccurate.
An inaccurate vehicle location may delay emergency responders from reaching you after a crash, which increases the risk of injury.
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners. The fix is a free Over the Air (OTA) software update that can be pushed remotely, and authorized dealers will check that the update succeeded or update the communication module software as needed, at no cost to you. You can also contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and reference recall number 2019120008. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
