VIN Recall Check

Enter your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number to look up safety recalls for your exact vehicle, free and instantly, using official NHTSA data. You can find the VIN on the driver-side dashboard, the door jamb sticker or your registration.

How the VIN recall check works

We decode your VIN with NHTSA's vehicle database to identify the make, model and year, then list every safety recall NHTSA has on file for that vehicle. Recall repairs are normally free at an authorized dealer. Some recalls cover only part of a model's production, so your dealer or the manufacturer can confirm whether the repair is still open on your specific car.
