Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Recall 22V360: Emergency call system may fail to connect in crash

NHTSA campaign 22V360, reported May 20, 2022, 19,937 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019 Freightliner Sprinter, Mercedes-Benz Metris, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles have a software error in the communication module's SIM card. This can cause a mobile network connection failure, which disables the emergency call (eCall) system.

If the eCall system is disabled, an occupant may be unable to reach the emergency services call center in an emergency. This could delay emergency responders and increase the risk of injury.

The communication module software will be updated free of charge, either over-the-air or by an authorized dealer. Owners may contact Daimler Vans USA at 1-877-762-8267 (recall numbers VS2SIMKOM/VS3SIMKOM). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
