A battery cable terminal on certain heavy trucks may break, causing a loss of electrical power and an unintended engine stall.
Headlight Bulb Can Dislodge and Melt Nearby Parts, Raising Fire Risk
Certain Freightliner Cascadia trucks with halogen headlight assemblies may have a headlight bulb that dislodges during bulb replacement.
Clutch Can Fail, Allowing Vehicle to Move Unexpectedly
An internal component inside the clutch assembly may fail.
Brakes May Pull to One Side During Automatic Braking
Corrosion in the single brake modulator valve can slow the valve's release timing.
Rear reflective tape may be hidden, reducing visibility to other drivers
On certain heavy trucks, the mudflap hanger bracket may partially cover the rear reflective tape.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Reduce Braking
Some 2019 Freightliner Custom Chassis vehicles equipped with air disc brakes may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough during assembly.
ABS Warning Light May Stay Off During a Fault
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) electronic control unit may fail to detect a malfunctioning solenoid valve in the ABS/ESC module when the vehicle starts under certain low-voltage conditions.
Brake Lines Can Be Damaged, Reducing Stopping Power
Certain trucks have inadequate clearance between the ride height control valve and the brake airlines.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Reduce Braking Power
Some 2019 heavy-duty trucks and chassis equipped with air disc brakes may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough at the factory.
Insufficient air brake reservoir may reduce braking, raising crash risk
Some heavy trucks may have an air brake reservoir (tank) that is too small to meet federal brake standards.
ABS Warning Light May Not Reactivate, Raising Crash Risk
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) malfunction warning light may fail to come back on after the ignition is turned off and then switched back on.
Driver's Airbag May Deploy Unexpectedly
Certain 2018-2020 Freightliner Cascadia trucks with the optional steering wheel airbag may have a driver's frontal airbag that deploys without warning.
Clutch Defect Can Cause Unintended Vehicle Movement
A component inside the Eaton ECA heavy-duty clutch assembly may fail, which can cause the vehicle to move unintentionally.
Loose Steering Bolts Can Cause Loss of Steering Control
Certain 2017 Freightliner custom chassis trucks may have loose steering and tie rod arm bolts.
Steering wheel may loosen and detach, causing loss of control
On certain 2019 heavy-duty trucks, the steering wheel can loosen over time and may separate from the steering column.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Reduce Braking
Some 2018 Freightliner and Freightliner Custom Chassis trucks may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough at the factory.
Fuel Line Can Burst and Engine May Stall
Certain heavy trucks with Cummins ISX15 or X15 diesel engines may have a fuel line that bursts during certain driving conditions, such as on a long downhill grade.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Reduce Braking
Some heavy trucks may have had the bolts that hold the air disc brake calipers insufficiently tightened during manufacturing.
Steering arm can crack and break, causing loss of steering
Over time, the pitman arm in the steering gear box can crack and fracture.
Dash Warning Lights May Not Check Brake Warnings
On certain 2017-2019 Freightliner Cascadia trucks, the instrument cluster may skip the startup bulb check for the anti-lock brake (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) warning lights if the ignition is switched off and back on too quickly.
Tire Cords May Show Through Liner, Risking Sudden Air Loss
Certain Continental Coach HA3 tires in size 315/80R22.5 on some trucks may have cords visible through the innerliner.
Tire cords can show through liner, risking sudden air loss
Certain Continental Hybrid HS3 tires (size 11R22.5, Load Range G) on some 2019 Freightliner Cascadia trucks may have tire cords visible through the innerliner.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Cause Caliper Detachment
Certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Cascadia trucks may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not properly tightened.
Loose Brake Caliper Bolts May Reduce Braking Power
Certain 2017 FCCC chassis equipped with air disc brakes may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough at the factory, so the bolts can loosen over time.
Driver Air Bag May Not Deploy Properly in a Crash

What owners report
I am purchasing this vehicle from a fleet sales in Pa and the left cab shock and 4 rear shock absorbers on the rear suspension I believe are severely compromised and I'm being told that they are unsure if these items are listed under DOT inspection and I am asking to have them replaced upon my purchasing of the vehicle. Will these severely rusted and damaged components passed a federal DOT inspection? I also see that they failed to have the recall repaired. Schneider Truck Sales in Harrisburg, PA is whom I am trying to purchase this vehicle from and I expressed to them that I believe these items should be replaced and repaired.
I am writing to bring to your attention a potentially dangerous situation caused by what I believe to be a manufacturer design flaw with the SS 1034797 M2, 108SD, 114SD Coolant Level Sensor P/N 06-93316-002. On [XXX], one of our trucks (VIN: [XXX]) experienced a low coolant warning and an automatic engine shutdown while traveling on the interstate in a construction zone. As you can imagine, the sudden stoppage of a tractor-trailer in the traffic lanes of a freeway presents an extremely hazardous situation, not only for our driver but for all motorists in the vicinity. For us as a motor carrier, this is compounded by the likelihood of legal liability resulting from any collision involving a
While approaching an overpass the collision mitigation system activated my brakes nearly causing the vehicle behind me to rear end my trailer, hit my brakes so hard i was thrown forward.
My 2019 Freightliner Cascadia forward collision brakes activates automatically while on the road without any other vehicle nearby, airbrake malfunction (not released appropriately and fully released) and extremely fuel consumption.
Truck will apply brakes when no objects or vehicles are around. It is very scary and unexpected when the system does this.
