Freightliner Cascadia Recall 18V353: Loose Brake Caliper Bolts May Reduce Braking Power

NHTSA campaign 18V353, reported May 29, 2018, 8,741 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 FCCC chassis equipped with air disc brakes may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough at the factory, so the bolts can loosen over time. A loose caliper can reduce braking performance.

Reduced braking performance increases the risk of a crash. Owners should watch for any change in how the brakes feel or respond.

An authorized dealer will inspect the brake caliper mounting bolts and tighten them as needed at no cost to you. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and you can contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 (recall number FL-772).
