Freightliner Cascadia Recall 18V411: Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Cause Caliper Detachment

NHTSA campaign 18V411, reported June 15, 2018, 18,105 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Cascadia trucks may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not properly tightened. Over time, this could allow a brake caliper to detach from the vehicle.

If a caliper detaches, braking performance is reduced, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not wait to have this checked.

Dealers will inspect the brake caliper mounting bolts and tighten them as necessary at no cost to you. Owners may also contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall FL-775. You can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls at no charge.
