Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Recall 21V235: Dashboard display can be too bright, hindering vision

NHTSA campaign 21V235, reported April 5, 2021, 1,285 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The multifunctional display in the instrument cluster of certain 2019 Sprinter vans may not be adjustable and can appear too bright in some lighting conditions. This means the vehicle does not fully meet federal safety standards for controls and displays.

A display that is too bright can make it harder for the driver to see the road and the instrument readings clearly, which increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Daimler Vans USA will update the instrument cluster software at an authorized dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 28, 2021. You can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267, and you should check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
