What owners report
Over the past year, the steering on my 2023 Ford Fâ150 Lightning has progressively developed a severe âstickyâ or ânotchyâ condition when turning the wheel to the right. The steering wheel will resist movement and feel like it is caught on a notch. Additional force is required to overcome the bind, and when it releases, the vehicle abruptly jerks to the right. This sudden movement can cause the truck to swerve into the adjacent lane or off the roadway. The condition began as an occasional notchy feel but has worsened significantly over time. It now occurs frequently and requires substantial steering effort to overcome the bind. This presents a serious safety hazard, especially at
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning with 42,220 mi. The rear light bar has formed a crack which will allow moisture intrusion (photo attached). This is the same condition named in recall 25SB6 (NHTSA 25V731) and predecessor 23S30 (NHTSA 23V418): water droplets in the lightbar outer lens, which can cause inoperative or flickering reverse lamps. On 10/06/2026 I took the truck to Elmhurst Ford. The dealer did not point to any outside forces that caused the crack, and acknowledged the recall stating they would attempt to have it covered under warranty or extended service plan purchased through Ford as my VIN was not listed/included. The dealer later said the part number was not covered and wanted to charg
On 10/5/2026 the front part of the sunroof on my Lightning burst into pieces and fell onto me and all over my cab while I was driving down the road. I had glass pieces and shards all over me and the front of the truck. I've read online that some other have also had issues with the same component. There was no warning. It wasn't hot, it was around 50degrees. I can't say there wasn't an existing crack or rock fracture, but I didn't find any evidence of rocks in the debris. I also can't say if I got popped with a rock, but since so many others have had the same issue, I felt it needs to be reported. This is very dangerous to happen while you are driving.
The vehicle's sunroof shattered spontaneously with a very loud, explosive noise similar to a gunshot. This was not an object strike, no vehicles were nearby or within 300 feet in front and nothing was overhead. The sunroof exploded upward and outward; most glass ended up in bed of the truck. The sunroof shade was drawn, so no glass fell into the cab and a small amount fell onto the sunshade. The break pattern was large, uniform, and symmetric across the sunroof, its widest point across the front edge of the sunroof. There was no warning for this at all, no noises or visual indicators that anything was wrong with the sunroof before the incident. The primary safety risk for this specific incid
The high-voltage battery in my Ford F-150 Lightning is exhibiting significant degradation and erratic power availability. The vehicle will no longer charge above approximately 60% state of charge. Upon startup, available power can suddenly drop from 100% to approximately 50%, and the indicated available power continues to fluctuate unpredictably while the vehicle is being driven. I am concerned this condition could result in an unexpected reduction or loss of propulsion power while driving, creating a potential safety hazard. Car is scheduled to go to dealer on 10/8/2026.
