What this recall means for you
Certain 2023 F-150 Lightning trucks may have a missing solder joint in the electronic cabin coolant heater module. This can cause intermittent or no cabin heat, and the windshield defrosting and defogging system may stop working. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 103 for windshield defrosting and defogging systems.
If the windshield cannot be cleared of fog or frost, your view of the road is reduced, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be especially alert to visibility problems in cold or humid weather.
The repair is free. Dealers will replace the electronic cabin coolant heater at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 3, 2024. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
