What owners report
I went out to my 2025 F150 Lightning and noticed there was frost on the windshield. I turned the defrost on using the app. About 10-15 minutes later, I went out my ty truck, closed the door, and heard what sounded like ice sliding off the back glass. When my wife closed the passenger door, I heard the same thing. I looked up in the rearview mirror and the back glass was shattered. Oct 17, 2026. Outside temp was low 40s.
Our 2025 Ford Lightning has experienced multiple instances of low-speed unintended acceleration. On May 26, 2026, while coasting into a parking spot on a slight incline, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and caused a collision. The defect has occurred approximately six times over 7,300 miles of operation (approximately once every 1,200 miles). Professional collision repair was completed July 7, 2026. Defect recurred after repair. Ford Factory Service Engineer inspection on August 10, 2026 conducted a seven-mile test drive and reported "concern not duplicated". The vehicle's EDR (Event Data Recorder) failed to reliably document the collision event, recording a timestamp 1 hour 19 minutes after
On August 19, 2026, I was involved in a collision in my 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning after a suspected malfunction involving the automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and/or acceleration controls. Cruise control was on; BlueCruise was not. While on an exit ramp, I heard a loud warning beep, experienced automatic braking, and then felt the truck suddenly accelerate into the vehicle ahead. The unexpected braking and acceleration compromised my ability to control the truck and avoid a collision, putting me and occupants of the other vehicle at risk. I am concerned about driving this vehicle again, including with my daughter. Before the collision, I experienced three incidents in
I am writing to report a serious safety issue introduced by a recent firmware update regarding the Sport mode and 1-pedal driving behavior. After driving the vehicle in Sport mode, parking, and restarting, the dashboard prompts me to return to Sport mode. When I select "Yes," the dashboard indicates that the vehicle has switched to Sport mode. However, the vehicle silently reverts to Normal mode, which has a much more relaxed braking pattern for 1-pedal driving than the expected, shorter braking path of Sport mode. Compounding the danger, this issue occurs inconsistently. Sport mode occasionally does stick upon restart, which creates a false and dangerous level of confidence in the system.

Safety Risk If the park pawl is not properly engaged and the electronic parking brake epb is not applied, your vehicle may experience a roll-in-park, increasing the risk of a crash.
