What owners report
SVC 4 WD Warning Light always on. Several diagnostics bring me to the PTU needing replaced. I am told by the dealer that the part alone is upwards of $2500 and is a severe warning that the vehicle will just stop functioning and place a whole lot of vehicles and passengers in an unsafe situation. I am now afraid of the vehicle and am not even finding a recall for this issue that is affecting many, many vehicles of this model.
Whilst driving on the highway at approx 65mph there was a clunk from under the car, followed by lack of acceleration, smoke was coming out from under the hood. We were unable to pull onto the shoulder immediately due to highway construction. We eventually pulled over and stopped the vehicle. We immediately popped the hood to check the source of the smoke and there was a fire coming from behind the engine with visible flames. The flames were burning and we could smell a strong chemical / oil burning smell. Fortunately we had a fire extinguisher and extinguished the flames quite quickly. We were towed off the highway and our insurance then towed us home. On inspection it was determined that th
I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The automatic rear liftgate opens normally but then suddenly drops and slams shut without warning or beeping. This has become a serious safety issue. The liftgate has actually closed on me, trapping me and preventing me from getting out. I am extremely concerned that this could cause serious injuries to myself or someone else. I believe this is an unacceptable safety hazard, and I am requesting that Jeep investigate the problem, determine whether any recalls or known defects apply, and provide assistance with the necessary repairs.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on multiple occasions, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and entered Limp mode. Concurrently, a warning light illuminated with a message reading "Service Transmission." The contact stated that turning off and restarting the vehicle temporarily reset the system to normal operation; however, the failure recurred approximately 10 minutes later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who performed a preliminary diagnosis and identified an internal transmission sensor failure. The independent mechanic indicated that a definitive diagnosis required extensively dismantling the transmission
The 3G cellular network that supports the 911 feature integrated into the car's onboard computer system (uConnect) was sunsetted. That's fine and all, but now these cars all all getting frequent warnings that hijack the dashboard screen for several seconds multiple times during a drive. There is no update to fix this. Basically we are being subjected to warning that I override our navigation because of an issue that Jeep knew was coming and has done nothing about. The only fix are aftermarket workarounds that require the expensive install of hardware that "tricks" the system into believing it is connected to a cellular network. This is not okay!! They need to push an update to remove these a
