2016 Volvo VNL recalls
Fuel Line Can Burst and Engine Can Stall Without Warning
A restricted screen in the fuel pump cooling circuit can cause the fuel line to burst, especially during extended downhill driving.
Loose Steering Tie Rod Can Cause Loss of Steering
A castellated nut on the steer axle may not be properly torqued, allowing the tie rod to loosen.
Oil and water can contaminate truck brakes, reducing stopping power
Incorrect software controlling the electronic air dryer can allow oil and water to get into the brake system of these trucks.
Steering Can Be Lost From Worn Ball Joints
Certain Volvo trucks have non-greasable drag links whose seals can be compromised, allowing the ball joints to corrode.
Steering shaft may separate, causing loss of steering
Some trucks may have been built without a roll pin on the steering shafts, and the bolt joining the upper and lower steering shafts may not have been properly tightened.
Brake Actuator May Cause Brake Drag and Fire Risk
Some Volvo VNL and VNX trucks from the 2015 and 2016 model years have Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators that may have an incomplete attachment of the internal rubber diaphragm to the parking brake mechanism.
