What owners report
Since the recent software update, the Lucid does not always give me the back up camera when in reverse. I have not contacted our dealership or tried to delete the update. I do have a video of this happening.
Vehicle accelerated fully by itself, with no acceleration from the driver, and violently collided with the parked vehicle in front of it. The impact was so strong that it pushed the parked vehicle into the vehicle in front of it. Safety was greatly put at risk, had there been people in the impacted vehicles, or a child crossing in front of our vehicle when the acceleration was activated. The vehicle has not been inspected, but a case with the manufacturer has been opened, and the vehicle data has been retrieved. There were no warnings or hints from the vehicle at all, prior to the unintended acceleration.
The cup holders in my 2025 Lucid Air are undersized and do not securely hold standard-size cups or tumblers sold in the U.S. A cup must be pressed firmly into the holder to fit, and even then it sits loosely and is not stable â it can shift or tip during normal driving maneuvers such as turning. A few weeks ago, while turning, hot coffee spilled from a cup seated in the cup holder onto me while driving. I was able to maintain control of the vehicle, but the incident presented a real distraction and burn hazard. This is a widely reported issue among other Lucid Air owners on brand forums, suggesting a common design defect rather than an isolated occurrence. Lucid has publicly acknowledged t
The car's phone connectivity is always an issue. The car locks when the phone is right next to it, for example, if you put kids or groceries in the back seat then it locks before you get to the front door. This is very annoying, but what makes it a safety issue is that when the door locks, the kids are unable to open it. This has happened multiple times, leaving my kids panicked and trapped. I looked into it online and there are entire reddit threads about it, with the solution being that you just have to push really hard, but this is not possible for kids! It also happened the other day when I let my [XXX] daughter take my phone to get something from the car, and the car forgot the phone
