Lucid Air Recall 25V670: Rearview Camera May Not Show or May Show Delayed Image Behind Vehicle

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022-2025 Lucid Air vehicles running software older than version 2.8.0 may have a lower console display that fails to show the rearview camera image, or shows a delayed or inaccurate image of what is behind the vehicle. These vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111, "Rear Visibility."

A rearview image that does not appear, or does not accurately show what is behind the vehicle, raises the risk of a crash, especially when backing up and a person, child, or object is in the path of the car.

Lucid has released a free over-the-air software update that fixes the problem. Owners can contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243 with questions about the recall, referenced as SR-25-04-0. Owner notification letters were mailed December 3, 2025. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your car is affected.

Problem
Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Air vehicles operating a software version prior to 2.8.0. The lower console display may fail to show a rearview camera image or may show a delayed, inaccurate image of what is behind the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk
A rearview image that does not appear or fails to accurately depict behind the vehicle increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 3, 2025. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-25-04-0. The information in your report suggests that Lucid may have been aware of this issue more than five business days before filing a report with NHTSA. Please be reminded that under Federal law, this agency is to be notified of all safety defect and/or noncompliance decisions within five business days. 49 CFR 573.6 Significant civil penalties can be assessed for this violation.
