Lucid Air Recall 26V017: Rearview camera may not display in reverse, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 26V017, reported January 16, 2026, 10,816 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 to 2026 Lucid Air vehicles equipped with the AD02 package and running software versions 2.8.0 through 2.8.16 may not show the rearview camera image when the vehicle is put in reverse. Without that image, the driver's view behind the vehicle is reduced, and the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.

A rearview image that fails to display increases the risk of a crash, particularly when backing up in areas where people, objects, or other vehicles may be behind you.

The remedy is a free over-the-air software update that Lucid has released. Owner notification letters were mailed March 4, 2026. You can contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243, referencing recall number SR-26-01-0, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
