Ford Bronco Recall 26V124: Rearview Camera May Go Blank, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 26V124, reported March 3, 2026, 849,310 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Ford Bronco and Edge vehicles may have an Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) that can overheat and shut down. When this happens, the rearview camera image may not display as intended, reducing your view behind the vehicle.

A rearview camera that fails to show an image leaves you with less visibility when backing up, which increases the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters were mailed April 13, 2026, and affected VINs became searchable on NHTSA.gov on March 5, 2026.

The remedy is free: a dealer will update the APIM software, or Ford may apply the update over the air. Check your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA.gov, or contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 26S09.
