What this recall means for you
Certain Kenworth trucks were built with air tanks that do not hold enough air for the brake system. Because the brakes rely on that stored air, the system may not meet federal air brake requirements, and braking performance can be reduced.
Reduced braking performance raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and check whether their truck is affected.
The repair is free. Dealers will install air tanks of the correct volume at no charge. Owners can contact PACCAR customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and reference recall number 24KWD, and should check their VIN for open recalls.
