Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Recall 21V359: Loose Front Door Hinge Screws Can Affect Crash Safety

NHTSA campaign 21V359, reported May 17, 2021, 2,016 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans may have front door hinge screws that were not tightened properly during assembly. Loose screws can change the gap between the door and the vehicle body.

That change in the door gap could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Owners should not ignore a door that seems to sit unevenly or shift position.

An authorized dealer will check the hinge screws and tighten them as needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2021. You can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
