What this recall means for you
Some 2019 Sprinter vans equipped with winter tires may have had their tires installed incorrectly. Tires installed with the wrong running direction can reduce grip on wet or snowy roads.
Reduced traction can cause a loss of vehicle control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously, especially when driving in wet or snowy conditions.
Dealers will check the running direction of the tires and correct it if needed. If the thread wear is uneven, the tires will be replaced. All work is free of charge at an authorized Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealer. Owners can also call DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 and check their VIN for open recalls.
