Chrysler 300 Recall 18V524: Engine May Stall or Fail to Start Due to Faulty Control Module

NHTSA campaign 18V524, reported August 9, 2018, 12,779 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The powertrain control module, the computer that manages the engine, may contain a voltage regulator chip on its circuit board that can fail. If it fails, the engine can stall or the vehicle may not start at all.

A sudden stall can increase the risk of a crash, particularly while driving at speed or in traffic. Owners of affected vehicles should take this seriously and have the recall checked promptly.

Chrysler will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the powertrain control module free of charge. You can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to see whether your vehicle is affected.
