I was notified about a recall for the tow hitch wiring harness. I took it to the dealer to have it repaired. Instead of repairing it, they just removed the wiring harness from the vehicle. When I asked them when the actual repair would be completed they said they had no idea. The service manager at the Hyundai dealership told me that some of his customers were mad about not having a safe and working tow hitch package that they had paid for, after they removed the wiring harness, that they were taking their cars to U-Haul dealers to have tow hitch wiring harnesses installed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the remedy to be available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the trailer wiring harness was removed, and a dust cap was installed over the wiring receptacle. The dealer had not replaced the tow hitch electrical harness.
