The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while parked and while driving at 25 MPH, the tailgate unexpectedly opened and failed to remain closed. The message "Tailgate Open" was displayed. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
I have a 2022 Chevy 2500HD diesel with 28,500 miles on it that recently went in for inspection. It FAILED the inspection due to the rear brake pads and rotors. These components are so bad that the rotors failed at less than 30k miles on them. Anything that has to do with a brake system puts everyone on the road at risk. The problem was repaired by the dealership at an astronomical price and other issues. No warning lamps or anything, in fact the brake pad wear sensor still read almost 40%.
Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT, Size LT275/65/ R20 Load Range E DOT #1RJ0TJB1V2322 While driving on the highway (approx. 65-70 MPH) the center tread of the rear driver-side tired suddenly and completely delaminated/separated from the casing without warning. The only warning was a second of vibrations right before the failure. The tire-maintained inflation pressure during and after the tread separated, proving the structural integrity of the casing waws intact and that this was not caused by a puncture, blowout or road hazard. It was a catastrophic chemical adhesion bond failure between the tread rubber and the steel belt package. My safety and the safety of other motorists on the highwa
Chevrolet had a tail gate recall on the Silverado vehicles due to the rear tailgate opening on its own while driving down the road. I had this recall completed by my local Chevrolet dealer and the problem got progressively worse. This causes physical damage and safety concerns if the truck bed is loaded and the consumer is pulling a trailer. General motors has been contacted with no resolution and the dealership has as well. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms have been noticed. The tailgate has released on its own before and after the recall was complete. However, It has happened much more frequently after the recall was complete.
The vehicle will not allow the truck to be turned off everytime, it states the truck must be in park to be turned off, and the truck is in park. The engine lost power and staleld twice, and loses accelerator power multiple times. The transmission has dis-engaged 3 times. All of this since July 2026. The truck has 54,000 miles on it.
