What owners report

2026-10-12, Forward Collision Avoidance
Collision avoidance system has activated nearly causing a collision with an oncoming vehicle three times. On narrow rural roads it is often necessary to steer quickly to the right when an oncoming vehicle approaches out of its lane. The car activates lane-keeping and steers to left toward approaching vehicle. If there is a bush or tall grass near roadway it also suddenly brakes as well as steers into traffic. This action nearly caused a collision today. Sensors are clean, windows clean, and no bright sunlight. All drivers aids are turned off. Each time message "Collision avoidance system activated" appeared on dash. Dealer found no problems x2.

Vehicle is repeatedly losing functionality of features controlled by what is referred to as the infotainment system, included lane departure warning, sound associated with turn signals, sound associated with GPS, use of hands-free calling system, etc. Upon reset, functionality resumes but the reset takes a few minutes and must be performed again and again as the issue is recurring. The main problem is that you don't know the functionality is temporarily down until something causes you to notice (IE no steering wheel vibration when departing a lane without turn signal, no alerts on backup camera - objects are visible but off-screen objects don't trigger a warning like they typically do, etc)

Back to my Initial seat belt on the same car. The car went in for service. The seat belt data showed it was fine. Again the belt pulled so aggressively it tore off my insulin pump patch by sliding upward aggressive as possible. After I took the car to Volvo they had some guy from corporate come look at computer data about the vehicle and test drive it and deemed it safe. I get the car back and zero work was done to the seat belt. The seat belt is harder to pull than it was before it went in. Multiple people in the service department agreed it’s much harder to pull. And literally said there’s nothing we can do cause the data did not show a srs notification. It’s my only car, I’m prett

I was completely stopped at a left turn. The rear collision sensor went off for no reason. The seat belt locked up so aggressively I could not get a breathe in and it ripped my insulin pump patch right off my stomach. If I was a couple hours away from home my blood sugar would go through the roof and cause ketones which could be fatal. Luckily I was 20 mins away from home. Being a [XXX] since [XXX] I am now [XXX] Volvo told me this is normal safety feature after inspecting the log. I don’t think it’s normal for collision sensors to go off while not moving as well as the seat belt aggressively pulling to the point were I can’t breathe and it rips off a life depending medical device righ
