What this recall means for you
A software error in the integrated trailer brake control module can cause a towed trailer with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes to stop braking. These vehicles were previously repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall, and the problem is not fixed by that prior repair.
When trailer brakes stop working, the vehicle needs a longer distance to stop, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners who tow trailers with these vehicles should be aware of this risk.
Dealers will update the integrated trailer brake control module software at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2025. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
