- Problem
- Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Grecale, 2023-2025 MC20 Cielo, 2024 Granturismo, GranCabrio, 2021-2024 Levante, Ghibli, Quattroporte, and 2022-2025 MC 20 vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Risk
- A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- The radio software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 740.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.
What this recall means for you
Certain Maserati vehicles may have radio software that can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the display. Without that image, the driver has reduced rear visibility, which does not meet the federal rear visibility standard (FMVSS 111) and increases the risk of a backover crash.
The remedy is a radio software update, delivered over the air or performed by an authorized dealer at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. If you have questions, you can contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737 and reference recall number 740.
You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected and whether the update is still outstanding.
