Hyundai Ioniq 5 Recall 24V868: Loss of drive power can raise crash risk; free fix

NHTSA campaign 24V868, reported November 18, 2024, 145,642 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) in these electric vehicles may become damaged and stop charging the 12-volt battery. When that happens, the vehicle can lose drive power while you are driving.

A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. Vehicles that were previously repaired under the earlier recall 24V-204 will need the new remedy completed as well.

An authorized dealer will inspect and replace the ICCU and its fuse as necessary, and will update the ICCU software. All repairs are free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Hyundai owners can call 1-855-371-9460 (recall 272) and Genesis owners can call 1-844-340-9741 (recall 025G). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
