Ford Bronco Recall 24V770: Front Control Arm Can Detach, Causing Loss of Steering

NHTSA campaign 24V770, reported October 16, 2024, 2,416 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The upper ball joint nut on the front upper control arm may not have been installed or tightened properly at the factory. If it is loose or missing, the control arm can separate from the knuckle assembly.

A detached control arm can cause loss of steering and control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should treat this as a safety issue and have the vehicle checked promptly.

The repair is free at an authorized Ford dealer. The dealer will inspect and verify that the ball joint fastener is tightened properly, and will replace the ball joint and knuckle assembly if needed. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 20, 2024. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 24S64).
