What this recall means for you
Fasteners that hold the emergency exit door on these school-type transit buses may loosen and detach. If that happens, the emergency exit door can open unexpectedly while the bus is in use.
An emergency exit door that opens unexpectedly can increase the risk of injury to passengers. Owners should have the bus checked promptly rather than waiting for a problem to appear.
Authorized Thomas Built dealers will inspect the emergency exit door fasteners and tighten them as needed, at no cost to you. Owners may also contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall FL982. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether this repair is still outstanding.
