Tesla Model S Recall 23V488: Front Seat Belts May Detach in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 23V488, reported July 14, 2023, 15,869 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain front-row seat belts may not be properly connected to the pretensioner anchors, which means the belt can come loose from its attachment point.

A seat belt that has detached may not properly restrain the driver or front passenger during a crash, which increases the risk of injury.

Tesla will inspect the front-row seat belts and connect them to the pretensioner anchors, or replace the seat belt assemblies if needed, at no cost to you at an authorized Tesla service location. Owners can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752, and you can check your VIN for open recalls to see whether your vehicle is affected.
