What owners report
Purchased new and professionally installed and used for almost 3 years without issue. Driving on highway. Approx 75MPH. Cover was fully closed and locked into place. Nothing in bed of truck. Cover was attached to both of the safety D rings. I heard a noise, looked out rear mirror and saw the cover 10-15 feet in the air and then crash onto the highway. No one was behind me at the time or I would have likely caused a fatal accident. I immediately pulled off road. Ran back to where the cover was and had to wait for traffic to break before I could run into the highway and throw the cover off the side of the road into the woods. Cars were swerving out of the way to avoid the cover before I could
I was returning from the airport in [XXX] with my kids, driving northbound on [XXX] when my truck engine turned off without warning. The truck began to slow down while I was surrounded by traffic going roughly 70mph. I had difficulty steering and braking because the vehicle engine was off. I attempted to restart the vehicle while it was coasting and slowing to dangerously low speeds in interstate traffic. The vehicle would not turn back on. I managed to change lanes through traffic and get to the emergency shoulder of the roadway and stop. I was shaken up over the incident, feeling very anxious about nearly causing an accident on the interstate. My kids were also very scared. I had the truck
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. While the contact's husband was driving uphill approximately 32 - 34 MPH and hauling a trailer, the vehicle unexpectedly lost motive power and rolled backwards. The brake pedal was depressed, and the parking brake was engaged to stop the vehicle. OnStar and 911 were contacted. The trailer was towed to the residence, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer determined that an unknown software update had caused the failure. The dealer performed a repair under TSB: 6318272, updated the engine control module software, and completed an oil change and tire rotation. The failure mileage was 17,520.
The vehicle experienced a loss of engine power accompanied by a check engine warning light and a âReduced Accelerationâ/reduced-power condition. The exact component causing the malfunction has not yet been determined. The vehicle and any affected components are available for inspection upon request. While driving the truck uphill toward our residence, the vehicle lost significant power and had difficulty maintaining acceleration. The truck stalled several times. The sudden loss of engine power while driving on an incline created a safety risk because the vehicle was unable to maintain normal acceleration and could potentially have stopped in traffic or created a hazard for other vehicles
The contact owns 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle decelerated and stopped independently. A dealer was contacted. The contact associated the failure with Technical Service Bulletin: 24-NA-139 (Fuel Pump Driver Control Module stalling or no-start conditions); however, the VIN was not included in the TSB.
