What owners report
Coolant Intrusion / In my Engine of 2.0L EcoBoost engines. I had coolant leaking into cylinders leading to overheating or total engine failure and had to replace engine with Ford not covering cost. Need a recall on these engines for 2016 Ford Edge. Still no recall from ford.
I am filing this complaint regarding a serious engine defect in my 2016 Ford Edge equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle has approximately 71,521 miles and still has its original engine. A Ford dealership inspected and diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed coolant intrusion into the engine. The dealership recommended replacing the engine long block, which represents a major engine repair at relatively low mileage. Despite the dealership's confirmed diagnosis, Ford has not offered to cover the cost of the repair and expects me to pay for the engine replacement myself. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of this engine defect. Coolant intrusion can lead to engine misfire
Coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders caused engine failure requiring full engine replacement at approximately 60,000 miles in March 2026. Vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge 2.0L EcoBoost. Exact date in March 2026 is approximate.
The engine ecoboost 2.0 needs a long block assembly due to coolant intrusion. This is a documented defect known to Ford but they refuse to reimburse replacement of the engine that can run over $9,000. This is a serious safety defect that can cause catastrophic damage or injury.
Hello, I'm on permanent disability and this my only car. it started with noticing white smoke coming out of the exhaust and a sweet smell. also noticed the coolant getting low and had to keep adding more in with no visible leaks. I pulled cylinder one plug and put a bore a scope down it and found a crack in the cylinder wall. I found a web site that said there was a class action law suite miller vs. ford for this issue, it told me to call these two dealer ships Ted Russel Ford and Ray Cunningham Ford to have my car fixed free of charge. The web site told me if they said no, to contact NHTSA and file a complaint. I also called NHTSA they told me to contact the state attorney office they
