I OWN AN RV WITH LIPPERT COMPONENT STAIRS MODEL # 128980 THAT ARE SUBJECT TO YOUR RECALL. THE RECALL NUMBERS FOR FOREST RIVER ARE # 15V798 AND LIPPERT # 15E078. PER THE NOTIFICATION LETTER I RECEIVED THE RECALL IS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE OF THE CENTER BOLT OF THE FAN GEAR ASSEMBLY. THIS FAILURE WILL CAUSE THE STEPS TO BE 'UNSTABLE, POSSIBLY CAUSING A PERSON TO FALL RESULTING IN INJURY.' I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM WITH THESE STEPS THAT MAY NOT BE COVERED BY THE RECALL. THE DUAL BALL JOINT LCI PART # 182119 IS ALSO PROBLEMATIC WITH THESE STEPS. THE BALL JOINT CONNECTS THE FAN GEAR ASSEMBLY TO THE STEP LEVER THAT LOWERS AND RAISES THE STEPS. IN ADDITION THIS BOLT KE

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V576000 (TRAILER HITCHES) BUT A SCHEDULE WAS UNABLE TO BE MADE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY TO BE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS TO BE CONTACTED DUE TO NO RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE AND WANTED TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
