TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 AUDI S6. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V382000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
FRONT SEAT BELTS ON 2008 AUDI S-6 MODEL (ONLY) ARE "REVERSED", THAT IS, TWISTED WHEN FASTENED. NO OTHER AUDI MODELS HAVE THIS CONFIGURATION FOR FRONT SEAT BELTS. I AM AFRAID THAT IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, WHEN THE EXPLOSIVE CHARGE THAT GOES OFF TO TENSION THE BELT, THE TWIST WILL CAUSE IT TO JAM, RESULTING IN GREATER BODILY INJURY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE AIRBAG. THIS WAS REPORTED TO AUDI, BUT AFTER 6 MONTHS OF "INVESTIGATION, THEY DIDN'T SEE THE NEED TO FIX ANYTHING, BECAUSE IT WOULD FORCE THEM TO SACRIFICE ADDITIONAL VEHICLES FOR REQUIRED TESTING. THEY ALSO REFUSED TO INSTALL THE CORRECTLY ALIGNED SEATBELTS FROM THE A-6, THE MUCH MORE COMMON NON-SPORT VERSION. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR THE
