The Carplay connectivity of the infotainment system is unreliable. While driving, the map directions and/or phone calls unexpectedly drop out. When the Carplay connection terminates, it forces the driver to operate the touch screen in order to reestablish the connection. This is a dangerous distraction. Unfortunately, my Toyota dealer (Ken Ganley Toyota 1110 Clairton Blvd Pleasant Hills PA 15236) has examined my system multiple times and has not been able to correct this malfunction.

The vehicle intermittently experiences a loss of engine power or significant hesitation when accelerating from a stop or from a slow speed. This has occurred multiple times, including when accelerating from a complete stop and after making a low-speed turn. This creates a safety risk when pulling into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning into traffic, or accelerating from a stop or slow speed because the vehicle does not accelerate as expected, increasing the risk of a collision. We live in a rural areas where we pull onto high speed roads. My wife is scared to take the car after a close call when the car would not accelerate. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple t

Engine sporadically loses power or hesitates when accelerating from a stop or slower speed. Have experienced when making a low-speed turn and/or when accelerating from a stop. This has happened on multiple occasions and has been taken to the dealer to investigate. However, they never fix anything because they say they could not replicate and there was no known recall or TSB for the specific vehicle at the time.

On occasion, the engine will lack power upon accelerating from a stop of slow speed resulting in a delay in power needed to accelerate. This creates a safety risk when accelerating from a stop or slow speed by opening up the risk of a collision when the car doesn't accelerate as needed. The car has been taken to the dealership but they say they cannot reproduce so they return it in the same condition. There are no warning lights that are presented to the driver.

The Pre-Collision Braking system is the function that failed. It is turned in a new vehicle by the Manufacture. On March 24, 2026 the Toyota dealer did a safety recall on the vehicle The accident occurred on [XXX] In a Parking Garage. I was pulling into an empty parking spot. I turned the steering wheel to align the car to the lines on the floor. My foot was lightly on the brake when the car accelerated forward to hit the garage wall. The vehicle did not show any alarms until after it hit the wall, if this happened while driving it could have hit a pedestrian causing serious harm. I opened a case ([XXX]) with Toyota Brand Engagement Center on April 2, 2026. They downloaded a copy of the v
