Honda Accord Hybrid Recall 26V663: Tire repair kit bottle cap can detach and become a projectile

NHTSA campaign 26V663, reported October 8, 2026, 4,804 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023-2026 Honda Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, and 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles have a tire repair kit in which pressure can build inside the sealant bottle while the kit is in use. This can cause the bottle cap to detach. Vehicles that were previously repaired under an earlier recall (26V366) are included and will need the new remedy as well.

A detached cap can become a projectile and strike the person using the kit or someone nearby, increasing the risk of injury.

Owners should contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870 (reference recall number PPW) and watch for an owner notification letter expected to be mailed November 16, 2026. The repair is free: an authorized dealer will inspect and replace the tire repair kit nozzle as necessary. You can also check your VIN on NHTSA.gov, where involved VINs will be searchable beginning October 17, 2026.
