Tesla Model 3 Recall 26V507: Headlights Too Bright, Can Dazzle Oncoming Drivers

NHTSA campaign 26V507, reported August 4, 2026, 20,349 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles may have low beam headlights that are brighter than federal limits allow. These headlights do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for maximum light output.

Excessively bright low beams can reduce visibility for oncoming drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

Tesla will replace the headlights free of charge at an authorized service center. Owners will receive an interim notification letter, mailed October 3, 2026, and another notice when the repair is available. You can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
