Honda Accord Hybrid Recall 26V366: Tire repair kit bottle cap can detach and strike someone

What this recall means for you

Certain Honda Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, and CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles from model years 2023 through 2026 have a problem with the temporary tire repair kit. When the kit is used, pressure can build inside the sealant bottle, which may cause the bottle cap to come loose.

A detached cap can act as a projectile and strike the person using the kit or someone standing nearby, increasing the risk of injury. Owners who have this kit should take the warning seriously and avoid using it until the vehicle has been inspected.

The remedy is free. Honda will have dealers replace the tire repair kit nozzle or sealant bottle at no cost. Interim letters were mailed July 27, 2026, and final remedy letters are expected in Fall 2026.
