Jeep Wrangler Recall 25V741: Jeep 4xe Battery Can Fail and Cause a Fire

What this recall means for you

Certain Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrids may have a high voltage battery that can fail internally. This can lead to a vehicle fire, either while the vehicle is parked or while it is being driven. A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.

Until the recall repair is completed, owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures, and not to charge the vehicle. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software and replace the high voltage battery as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025, and the rest will be mailed at a later date. Owners who previously had recall repairs under NHTSA Recalls 24V720 or 23V787 will need the new remedy performed.
