Ford Maverick Recall 25V095: Rear tail lights may switch off, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 25V095, reported February 14, 2025, 2,711 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Ford Maverick vehicles from model years 2022 through 2024 were previously repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. The body control module, which manages electrical functions, may inadvertently deactivate one or both rear tail lights.

When tail lights fail to illuminate, other drivers may have a harder time seeing your vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 28, 2025.

Dealers will update the body control module software at no cost to you. Contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 for more information, and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
