Ford Maverick Recall 24V684: Rearview Camera Image Can Freeze in Reverse

NHTSA campaign 24V684, reported September 13, 2024, 273,701 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rearview camera display may freeze while the vehicle is in reverse, which can leave the driver with reduced view behind the vehicle.

An inoperative rearview camera display lowers rear visibility, which raises the risk of a crash while backing up. Owners should be cautious when reversing and check mirrors and look over their shoulder, especially until the software update is installed.

Authorized Ford dealers will update the Connected Touch Radio software at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 21, 2025. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
