Ford Expedition Recall 24V099: Front Seat Belts May Lock and Fail to Restrain Occupants

NHTSA campaign 24V099, reported February 9, 2024, 77,574 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front seat belt pretensioner in the driver and/or front passenger seat may deploy unexpectedly. When this happens, the belt can lock so it will neither retract nor extend.

A seat belt that cannot retract or extend may fail to hold an occupant in place as intended, which increases the risk of injury in a crash. Owners should be aware of this condition, especially if they notice the front belt feeling stuck or refusing to move.

Authorized dealers will replace the seat belt retractors as needed, at no cost to the owner. They will also install an HVAC drain tube elbow if it is missing. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 8, 2024. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 24S06).
