Ford F-150 Recall 23V847: Driver Airbag May Not Deploy in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 23V847, reported December 15, 2023, 17,970 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The steering wheel clock spring on these trucks may have a weak weld, which can cut the electrical connection to the driver's frontal airbag. When that connection is lost, the airbag is deactivated and will not deploy during a crash.

An airbag that does not deploy leaves the driver more exposed to injury in a collision. Owners should not wait to have this checked.

An authorized Ford dealer will inspect the clock spring and replace it if necessary, at no cost to the owner. Owners can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
