What this recall means for you
The forward-facing camera on certain 2023 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles may be misaligned. When this happens, active safety features such as emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane assist can become unavailable, and the driver is not alerted that they have stopped working.
Because these features can switch off silently, a driver may believe they are protected when they are not. That lack of warning may increase the risk of a crash.
Tesla will inspect the camera and adjust its pitch angle as needed, at no cost to owners, at an authorized Tesla service center. Owner notification letters were mailed September 12, 2023. You can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752, referencing recall SB-23-17-006, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
