What this recall means for you
This recall covers certain 2017-2018 Ford F-Super Duty trucks and Lincoln Continental sedans equipped with the 360-degree camera system. The anti-reflective coating on the rearview camera lens can degrade over time, causing the camera image to appear foggy or cloudy.
A clear rearview image is important for seeing what is directly behind the vehicle. When the image is hazy, the driver may not see people, objects, or other vehicles in the area, which increases the risk of a backover crash.
The remedy is free. Authorized Ford dealers will replace the rearview camera at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. To check whether your vehicle is affected, use your VIN to look for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-800-1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 22S51.
