Mercedes-Benz Metris Recall 22V482: Incorrect tire load rating label may lead to tire failure

NHTSA campaign 22V482, reported July 7, 2022, 24,359 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The tire load capacity value listed for these vans is incorrect, so the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire and loading information. Because owners may believe they can carry more weight than the tires are rated for, an overloaded vehicle may experience tire failure, which increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will install corrected labels on the B-pillar and fuel filler door, and will inspect the tires and replace any that are incorrect. All repairs are free of charge. Owner notification letters began being mailed on April 19, 2024.

If you own one of these vehicles, check your VIN for open recalls and contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule the repair. You can also contact the manufacturer, Daimler Vans USA, LLC, at 1-877-762-8267 and reference recall number VS2LASTRE.
