What this recall means for you
Some Mercedes-Benz vehicles may have had an incorrect front passenger airbag installed during a previous repair. The wrong airbag may not work properly in a crash, which raises the risk of injury to the front passenger.
Because the airbag may not function as designed, a front passenger could be hurt more seriously in a collision than intended. Owners should not assume their vehicle is unaffected, since the problem came from an earlier repair rather than the original build.
Dealers will replace the front passenger airbag free of charge. Owners who received a notification letter mailed September 10, 2021 can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your car is affected.
