Autocar Xpeditor Recall 21V030: Engine May Stall and Not Restart Without Warning

NHTSA campaign 21V030, reported January 28, 2021, 3,196 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Autocar Xpeditor trucks from model years 2018 through 2021 may have a seat belt harness routed too close to the seat mechanism. If the harness rubs against the seat mechanism and chafes until it short circuits, the circuit protection fuse opens, the engine shuts off, and it will not restart.

Because the vehicle can stall without warning and may not restart, the risk of a crash, personal injury, or property damage is increased. Owners should be especially cautious about driving the vehicle until the repair is made.

Autocar will notify affected owners. Dealers will route and secure the seat belt wiring clear of the seat mechanism at no cost to you. Owners can contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486 (Autocar recall number ACX-2101). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
