Mercedes-Benz AMG E53 Recall 20V673: Passenger Seat May Move Too Far, Raising Airbag Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V673, reported October 30, 2020, 1,337 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front passenger seat may be missing the mechanical stop that limits how far it can travel. Without that stop, the seat can be moved outside the acceptable range relative to the airbag.

If the front passenger seat is positioned beyond that range, there could be an increased risk of injury in a crash where the airbag deploys.

Dealers will inspect the front passenger seat for the mechanical seat adjustment range limit and install it if needed, at no cost to you. Owners may also contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-368-6372 (recall number 2020110013), and you can check your VIN for any open recalls.
