Ford F-250 SD Recall 19V808: Daytime Running Lights May Not Dim, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V808, reported November 12, 2019, 86,296 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trucks in this recall may keep their daytime running lights at full brightness when the headlight switch is turned to the On position. The lights are supposed to dim in that case. Because they stay bright, the truck may be less visible to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles also do not meet the federal lighting standard, FMVSS 108.

The fix is a software update to the Body Control Module, which dealers will install free of charge. Owners can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, using recall number 19C10. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) on the NHTSA recall lookup or with a Ford dealer to confirm whether your truck is affected and has an open recall.
