Autocar Xpeditor Recall 19V227: Brake Pin Retainer May Be Missing, Longer Stopping Distance

NHTSA campaign 19V227, reported March 22, 2019, 656 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Autocar Xpeditor trucks from 2019 and 2020 may have been built without the retainer that holds the brake chamber clevis pin in place. Without it, the vehicle may need a longer distance to stop, and the vehicle does not meet federal air brake safety requirements.

A longer stopping distance raises the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or emergency braking situations. If you own one of these trucks, you should have the brake chamber checked as soon as possible.

Autocar will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install any missing brake chamber clevis pin retainers at no cost to you. You can contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486, and reference recall number ACX-1904. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
